Smart Grid & Smart Metering
IAT expertise at the core of your smart meters
From firmware layers to certification-ready protocols, we support manufacturers through every step of development and industrialization.
📐 Robust, optimized, and field-proven solutions.
The rise of smart grids is transforming the way energy is generated, measured, and consumed.
At IAT, we are actively contributing to this shift through the development of smart metering and grid infrastructure solutions.
From the design of connected meters to the integration of communication protocols and the deployment of Head-End systems, we deliver the core technologies that empower utilities to monitor performance, manage billing, and optimize energy efficiency.
Our expertise spans the full chain: sensors, embedded firmware, protocols, data concentrators, and backend platforms.
Development of smart meters
IAT designs and develops smart energy meters (single-phase, three-phase, prepayment) in collaboration with hardware manufacturers. We specialize in embedded software architecture, protocol stack integration(DLMS/COSEM, STS…), event and data logging, energy measurement, fraud detection, and user interface.
We also support clients through metrological certification processes (MID, IEC, STS) with tailored testing, traceability, and validation tools.

Intégration de protocoles (DLMS, M-Bus, Euridis…).
We offer a comprehensive set of ready-to-integrate communication protocol stacks for meters and concentrators. Our stacks (DLMS/COSEM, M-Bus, Wireless M-Bus, Euridis…) are compatible with various platforms (ARM Cortex-M, Embedded Linux…) and meet international standards. They come with configuration tools, testing scripts, and optional certification support through accredited labs.

Concentrateurs de données & systèmes Head-End
IAT develops firmware for data concentrators (DCUs) and industrial gateways capable of collecting,
aggregating, and transmitting data from heterogeneous fleets of meters. These DCUs firmware support
multiple communication protocols (RS485, PLC, RF, M-Bus, etc.) and offer local features such as data
buffering, filtering, logging, and encryption.
We also provide backend software modules (Head-End Systems) for managing DCUs and enabling two-way
communication with MDM systems. Features include device monitoring, remote configuration, OTA
updates, event handling, and secure API interfaces.
